USA – Wireless connectivity for implanted devices

Researchers have introduced a new form of communication that enables devices such as brain implants, smart contact lenses, credit cards and tiny devices wearable electronics, “talk” to everyday devices as smart phones and watches do.

This new system, developped by the team Vikram Iyer y Vamsi Talla, from the University of Washington in the US city of Seattle, works by converting Bluetooth signals in wireless signals transmission through the air.

Wireless connectivity for implanted devices can radically transform how we manage chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s.
