CHILE – Project incorporates sign language to the live events transmission

The law project seeks to incorporate sign language or subtitles to facilitate access for people experiencing hearing disability to the music content in live entertainment. So far, it has had a slow discussion in the Senate, hence, this Thursday, the Socialist deputy Marcelo Schilling, author of the initiative, with the Marga Marga Deaf Association, made a call to speed up the discussion in Parliament.

The initiative was approved by the House last year and its processing now in the Senate.

Manuel Gatica, President of the Marga Marga Deaf Association, said his goal is to have sign language in the transmission of events “as soon as possible”, and that his longing is mainly focused on the issuance of the next Viña Festival in 2017.
