According to the TSS agency (Tecnología Sur Sur), a team of engineers from the Regional Institute of Bioengineering (IRB) of the National Technological University Faculty Regional Mendoza (UTN-FRM) is working on developing an standing wheel chair.
The idea is that, both the chair and the role of bipedalism, were handled through electrical commands instead of manuals. They evaluate the possibility of associating various control technologies, so it can adapt to different types of disabilities. The ultimate goal is to create a technology-based company dedicated to providing devices for innovative equitative rehabilitation.
Next team goals are, finish the development of two prototypes and assemble another series of models to test different ways to command.
