Argentina – A shared agenda in social matters

Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon made an official visit to Argentina to strengthen ties of partnership between the Government and the Agency. After meeting with minister Carolina Stanley, the diplomat signed a letter of intents to open an UN Women Office in the country.

In the meeting with national government officials, Ban Ki-moon emphasized the importance of the challenges comprised in the sustainability goals, he stressed that the eradication of gender-based violence is a priority and called to protect and respect the rights of refugees as well as migrants worldwide.
